Deploy Stack (Your Blender Farm)

Deploy your first Blender farm in the cloud with Brender Studio. Learn how to create and deploy a Stack Farm with simple steps.

Introduction

A Stack Farm is a collection of AWS resources needed for cloud rendering. When you deploy a stack in Brender Studio, a CloudFormation template is utilized through the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), and is implemented in your own AWS account. This allows you to easily create and manage your own rendering farm.

In simple terms, Brender Studio uses AWS services to set up a rendering farm in the cloud. This means you can render your Blender projects on powerful cloud machines without needing to own the hardware yourself. Brender Studio acts as a user-friendly interface (wrapper) to manage these AWS resources, making it easier for artists to use cloud rendering.

Steps to Deploy a Blender Farm

  1. Open Brender Studio
    • Go to "Stacks Farm" "Create New Farm."
Create New Farm
  1. Select Configurations for Your Blender Farm:
    • Private or Public Networks: Decide if you need private or public networks for your stack. Keep in mind that private networks may increase the cost.
    • Region: Choose the region where you want to deploy your stack.
    • Stack Name: Choose a unique name to identify your stack.
    • Compute Resources: Select the maximum number of vCPUs for your stack. This is the upper limit of computing power your rendering farm will use. If your AWS account quota doesn't reach this maximum, it will use the highest value available within your quota. This ensures optimal use of resources based on your account's limitations.
    • Blender Versions: Choose the Blender versions you wish to deploy within your stack.
